When I read its says when I add add-on SAP HR Renewal 2.0 , SAP HR will be upgraded. Is it compulsory to go for SAP HR Renewal 2.0 3. What is the advantage of SAP HR Renewal 2.0

We plan to upgrade from ECC6 EHP4 to EHP7. We would like to know EHP7 compatibility with the following SAP systems currently existing in the landscape:

SAP BW 3.5   (release 640)

SAP SCM4.10     (release 640)

SAP PI7.1   (release 710)

Do we have to consider upgrading above three systems also, is it mandatory.

Purpose of this update is only to be SAP HANA ready and we are not going to use new enhancement in near future.  So our query is what should be the minimum selection while selecting technical components during generating stack file from solution manager 7.1 sp10?

Can we only select technical component "Central Application" (Default selection in MOPZ). that will only update basic technical components as listed below.

Few of the component will remain at release 600. i.e SAP_HR,EA_HR, but their sp level will be updated to recent level of 109 (SP level equivalent of EHP sp07)

Is this acceptable to keep few components at 600 level and update others as per EHP7 selection of "Central application"

Do you recommend anything for selection of technical components for stack file generation?

We are in the process of upgrading our ECC ERP system from EHP5 to EHP 7 on OS: HP-UX.

as for preparation, we did a system copy of this system (NP3) to a test

system (NP3) and successfully upgraded the test system to EHP 7.

we now want to continue with the rest of the system but got stuck in

PREP_EXTRACT/SSFS_PREP for the past 10 days. we configured SSFS and the

SAP system is up and running. R3trans -d returns no errors. please see below for log,

4. Tried creating OPS$ user as OPS$<SIDADM>

5. Tried creating OPS$ user as "OPS$<Hostnmae>\<SIDADM>

6. Also updating SAPR3SHD password using BRTOOL command

But still it is nod reading User password.

I am trying to implement Solution manager 7.1 SP8 patches to SPS 13 using SUM 1.0 SP 13 patch 4.

SUM looks stuck in phase PREP_IMPORT/TOOLIMPD from almost 5 hours.

Is it usually take that long to pass this phase?

There is no activity on log file from almost 3 hours. The only log file updated recently is <sum directory>/abap/tmp/dev_evt: below are the the lines i se in there:

Dear All,

Scenario:

Under the one transport request there are 2 tasks created for 2 different user-ids.

Under the first task first Abaper start with the ABAP CLASS and Methods development and once its finish he released the task.

Its is still present in the development system with the task release state. ( Transport request is not released )

After some time second Abaper start with the same development again with the same classes and methods.

But by mistake he deleted the code present inside one method and now as every thing present in the development system he is not able to retrieve the old code from version management.

Is there any possibility to retrieve the old deleted code of method?

STEP1: In this scenario all Transports are created in (DEV200),old version ,then these transports  are also released to (QAS300-ECC6) for precautionary measures before upgrade of DEV.

STEP2: Our Basis Team upgrade development server to EHP7.

Can we entertained all transports which are created in old development environment in new dEV- EHP7 environment .

how we entertained old version transports created in Old development Client to EHP7 Client.so that we take the same output for transports in upgraded client of Quality assurance server

If we import  transports via STMS_IMPORT in Quality assurance server ,is sap support ? this activity? please elaborate step wise

Hi, We are upgrading our ECC EHP7 to latest version, current SAP version is SAP ECC EHP5 SP 9. To goto the latest version we need to upgrade SQL server into 2012, in order to do sql upgrade we need to be in SAP ECC EHP5 SP 11. SQL upgrade depends on ECC patch, ECC upgrade depends on SQL upgrade. Now we have two approaches 1. Upgrade SAP ECC EHP7 SP5 (minimum requirement for SQL 2012) - SQL upgrade - patch SAP ECC EHP7 to latest 2. Patch ECC EHP5 SP9 to latest version or SP11 - SQL upgrade - Upgrade SAP ECC EHP7 latest version May I know which approach we can execute in shortest duration? In either approaches we have two options Option 1 (a) SAP Upgrade / patch, user test for 1 week, if no issue, proceed with (b) (b) Upgrade SQL 2012, user verify for 1 week, if no issue, proceed with (c) (c) SAP Patch / upgrade, user test Option 2 Big Bang approach - SAP Upgrade / patch, Upgrade SQL server 2012 and SAP patch / upgrade SAP followed by user test. We need to upgrade our ECC6.0 to either EhP5 or EhP6. It's required for an add-on vistex. I have few questions:

1. Our ECC production is 5TB. Why do we need a full system copy on sandbox. Can we use TDMS to bring configuration and master data and do our first test upgrade? How can we make sure our timelines for production unless we have a full system copy? I believe we'll be refreshing our QA with full copy of production. If we do not get approval to go for full copy of prod on QA what are the consequences?

2. Since EhP5 is old shouldn't we go for EhP6?

Now we are on Windows 2003 and Oracle 10.2.0.4.

We want to upgrade to Windows 2012 and 11.2.0.4.

Here my doubt is:

1) Windows 2003 to windows 2012.. Is it possible?

A) As per some notes by using in place upgrade we can do it but it will be two step process.. Means 2003 to 2008 R2 and then 2008 R2 to 2012.

If we go with standard process as Export and Import .. Then we can do export of existing database first.. Then uninstall 2003 server and install a fresh 2012 and then import exported DB.

Here my doubt is now we are on 10.2.0.4 Oracle ... So shall we go ahead with importing of 10.2.0.4. DB in 2012 since 10G is not certified for 2012...

Do we get any problem on this??

Our plan is like install 2012 server and then importing 10G exported DB and then upgrade it to 11G

So please let me know whether this correct process or do we need to follow any other process?

I'm not really sure but I had in mind that I need two different steps.

First step an upgrade from 4.6B to SAP Enterprise 4.7 and from SAP Enterprise 4.7 to SAP ERP 6.0 afterwards. Is it right, isn't it?

Unfortunately I can find further information. In the latest SAP Upgrade Guide are just information because of source and target but

no information how it works in detail.

I have a question about an EHP4 -ERP 6.0 installation we've made, because we bought some Work Manager licenses to implement, but we wanted to make some tests before running those in our primary system.

So the question is if there is any way to create Maintenance Certificates for this ERP Demo in order to use SAINT/SPAM codes, without having to pay for full licenses or keys for the ERP system.

I am trying to do Sp upgrade for  sap ecc 6.0, the system has Max db 7.6,   kernel release 721, and latest TP ans R3trans. It is giving below error.

Hi All,

We are upgrading below components using SUM

EA-HR

SAP-HR

SAP-UI

Getting the below error.

       Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_INIT/VALCHK_INI!

Last error code set: DMIS is in an undefined state, that is not safe to be upgraded, reason Upgrade wasn't completed - Call the SAP Support    

Please advice.

After upgrading to ERP 6.0, I discovered that it is no longer possible to Create an Attachment using Generic Object Services (GOS) -- example: MM02 -> Create -> Create Attachment.   Interestingly enough, this is only true for Creating Attachments -- it is possible to Create a Note and Create an External Document (URL). And the Attachment List works fine. GOS functionality was, and still is, functional in the old 4.7 landscape.

Also, the error message that I receive after choosing the attachment:

"The Attachment has not been created"

Does anyone have a solution for this scenario?
