ECC 5.0 upgradability

Hi,

 

We have just inherited an ECC 5.00 32 bit landscape landscape (PRD+TST+DEV) from our new acquired company. So we would like to upgrade this system to ECC 6.08 or 6.07. I think that isn't so nice and we must do several steps.

 

AS IS:

 

ECC 5.0 SP13 base on NW 6.40 ASCII

Oracle 11.2.0.2 32 bit ASCII

Kernel 6.40 ASCII

Windows 2003 R2 32 bit

 

Is it possibile to jump directly from 5.00 to 6.08? ... I think no... so I've just read PAM but it's so pessimist. So, I understood that:

 

1) Upgrade to...

 

ECC 6.00 based on NW 7.00 ASCII

Oracle 11.2.0.2 32 bit ASCII

Kernel 7.20 ASCII

Windows 2003 R2 32 bit

 

2) Unicode Convertion base on system copy...

 

ECC 6.00 based on NW 7.00 ASCII

Oracle 12.1 64 bit U

Kernel 7.22 EXT U

Windows 2012 R2 64 bit

 

3) Upgrade to...

 

ECC 6.01 based on NW 7.00 ASCII

Oracle 12.1 64 bit U

Kernel 7.22 EXT U

Windows 2012 R2 64 bit

 

4) Upgrade to...

 

ECC 6.08/6.07 based on NW 7.40 ASCII

Oracle 12.1 64 bit U

Kernel 7.45 EXT U

Windows 2012 R2 64 bit

 

Is there a faster way? Can we delete step 3 (upgrade 6.00 to 6.08/6.07)?

Budget assignment to combination of parent or child fund centre

HI,

 

our budget is assigned to commitment items under the budget structure, by fund centre.  I would like to check, under the same structure, is it possible to have a combination of assignment for some to parent fund centre and some to child fund centre.

i had a network disconnection..

 

after logging into the server, and trying to execute any tcode

i get the following error

Syntax error in program "SAPLSDIFRUNTIME ".

Does NW7.5 require EhP8?

Does EhP8 include NW7.5(or the opposite way)? Is there any way to get NW7.5 with EhP7?

If yes, are there the same requirements as EhP8 has?

SAP NW 7.4 SP10-13 update post step->old tablespace deletion issue

HI All,

 

We are doing NW 7.4 SP1013 update using SUM1 SP16 using the standard configuration(Shadow instance) and new tablespace PSAPSR3740X got created and as a part of the post update steps we want to delete the old tablespace PSAPSR3740.

 

The old tablespace has some table in it,i found various notes which tells to move the table from 740 to 740X tablespace through brtools.

 

In one sandbox system we did that and then deleted the 740 tablespace.

 

But for another Sandbox system post update I can see there are index along with table in this old tablespace.

 

Now I did not get any oss note or sap blogs on this issue of index present in old tablespace or how to move it, neither I get any option for this in brtools.

 

Although I got in various oracle forum the command to do this->alter index <index_name> rebuild tablespace <new_tablespace>

 

But I want some OSS note or SAP recommendation on moving index. Please let me know if you have any opinion/Suggestion on this

Dear Firends,

 

We are going to upgrade a SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE 47X200 Unicode system (Kernel 6.40_EX2 64-BIT) to ERP 6.0 EHP6.

 

We are using SUM SP16 to upgrade the system.

 

I have a question about the following part of SUM SP16 documentation (pg 95):

 

4.13 Filling the Download Directory

You can put all files and software packages with which you want to update your system in a download directory.

 

Make sure that the files and software packages that you want to include in the upgrade, such as .SAR files, are located at the top level of your download directory. They should not be located in any subdirectories. This could be the case, for example, when you just copy the upgrade DVD into the download directory.

 

We have downloaded the DVDs and support packages, created a directory "Download" and copied all DVDs and support packages into the directory.



 

But, we think it's not enough. According to documentation, we have to copy all *.SAR files located under DVDs sub-directories into the root directory.


Is it correct?


How to do it?


Please share with us all information about this task "Filling the Download Directory".

Dear Firends,


I have a question about SOLMAN and MOPZ.


Is it possible to upgrade a system from R/3 4.7 to ERP 6.0 EHP6 without using MOPZ?


Do we need a stack.xml file?


Is it mandatory to have a stack.xml file?


We have downloaded all DVDs needed for the upgrade and we don't want to install support packages stacks.


Please share the information you have.

upgrade issue in EHP7

Hello Team,

 

We have recently upgrade from EHP5 to EHP7 SP11.

 

code in include LFIOTPF05 is not same as EHP5

 

we are calling BADI for one time posting BADI(FIOTP_DOC_ADJUST) . That is called in the LFIOTPF05.

 

This called code in missing in include LFIOTPF05 INCLUDE IN upgrade version EHP7

 

same calling statement is available in same include in EHP5.

 

Due to this code missing for BADI call , we are unable call the custom logic in BADI

Hi,

 

Does anyone used SUM tool 1.0 SP10, if yes can you please help me with keyword for this. During the update process GUI asked me to enter the keyword and suggested to refer the note 1878193. But I couldn't find the same at SMP. Can some one help me with keyword please.

Ehp3 upgrade

Dear All,

We are planning to migrate the DataCenter and upgrade Enhacement packages from EHP3 to EHP7

Source : Windows2k8/Oracle 10g  [EHP3]/Kernel 700

Target : Windows2012/Oracle12  [EHP7]

 

Step1 => DC migration to Windows 2012/Oracle Platform

 

Step2=> Oracle upgrade to Oracle 12

 

Step3=> Upgrade EHP 3 to EHP8 upgrade.

 

Could you please confirm the above step1 is feasible? or let us know if there is any best approach?

 

Also please let me know what is the mininum kernel level should be updated in the current dc before the DC migration?

MOPS Target Stack not Show ECC EHP 8

Dear SAP Experts,

 

I have tried to upgrade my ECC6 EHP6 to ECC6 EHP8. I want to created XML stack from solman for my ECC system, but i can't found ECC6 EHP8 in the target stack.

Then I have updated CR content, and ECC6 EHP8 shown in software catalog in solman SLD.

What configuration need i do to make ECC6 EHP8 shown in target stack MOPZ Solman?

Upgrade error in the component GBX02SA4 in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION

Hello for all,

we did a migration of our ECO environment to a new server, to create a new development environment ECD, where we evolve the operating system (MS Win Server 2008 to MS Win Server 2012) and database (MS SQL Server 2008 to MS SQL Server 2012) versions, to then do an upgrade from SAP version (ERP6.0 EhP4/NW7.01 to ERP 6.0 EhP8 (stack1)/NW75).

However, to begin the upgrade, we had many problems with the add-on/component GBX02SA4, which prevents the upgrade process to move ...not even able to move from phase Extraction (Current Phase: PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION).

Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION!

Last error code set: Stack file is

invalid: component 'GBX02SA4' (stack release = source release, but KEEP not

allowed) If you put new packages in the download directory, use option 'init' to

upload them

Trouble Ticket Generation

A trouble ticket and an archive with all relevant log files have been generated.
Trouble ticket: "F:\usr\sap\ECD\SUM\abap\log\SAPup_troubleticket.log"
Log archive: "F:\usr\sap\ECD\SUM\abap\log\SAPup_troubleticket_logs.sar"

Any idea?

SSFS configuration issue when upgrade from R/3 Ent 470 EX2 to ERP6 EHP7

I'm performing the upgrade from R/3 Enterprise 470 EX2 (Kernel 640_EX2_patch_412) to ERP6 EHP7 (Kernel 7.42_patch 329) by using SUM 1.0 SP16.

However, it has stopped on phase PREP_INPUT_CHECK/DBCONNCHK_INI due to the connection problem to Oracle via SSFS. I've followed the SAP Note 1622837 and 1639578 to setup the directory and profile for the SSFS. However, when I execute the command rsecssfx put DB_CONNECT/DEFAULT_DB_USER <name> -plain and rsecssfx put DB_CONNECT/DEFAULT_DB_PASSWORD <pwd>, it show the error "ksh: resecssfx: not found".

I think could be my current version is too old to support the SSFS, therefore I just do a manual kernel upgrade from kernel 640_EX2 to 740. System is able to stop and start but not able to login.

Why we will not be testing the standard objects adjusted by SPAU transaction . or

Is it necessary to test the standard objects adjusted by SPAU transaction .

As per my knowledge we will be testing only custom impacted objects which are remediated.


Please correct me if I am wrong .

Error in Stack File Generation due to customized component Deployed in JAVA Stack

Hello Colleagues,

 

We are performing an Upgrade for Java stack.SUM tool not able to accept the stack file generated by maintenance Planner.

 

Issue we found is one custom component has been deployed in Java Stack via NWDI, but stack file don't contain the details of it.

 

Please help on how to include this custom component into stack.xml file.

whether TRs need to be released before SPS update

Dear Experts,

I have two queries regarding ERP SPS update.


1) We are planning to update our ERP Development system from EHP7 SPS06 to EHP7 SPS11,

And we have around 544 Customizing TRs and 149 Workbench, all modifiable TRs (unreleased) in system.

 

So would I require to release these TRs before SPS update or not?

 

Actually in our landscape it’s just single ERP Dev System and QA system is yet to be build, So I think If I get all these TRs released and then do SPS update of DEV, then I should not import these released TRs in QA in future because QA would be build on SPS 11 and these released TRs would be of SPS06.

So what should be best practice for our scenario?


2) Is it possible to get stack.xml file to use in SUM update tool without having solution manager? Through SAP I guess?

PREP_EXTENSION/IS_SELECT steps repeating for C-CEE without progress

Hi,

 

I am applying some patches to my EHP7 IDES. During the phase PREP_EXTENSION/IS_SELECT same steps are repeating without progress as below

 

1. At IS_SELECT step i selected to upgrade C-CEE to version 110_604 and clicked on next button

2. In the next dialog step I have chosen the option upgrade add-on with SAINT package

3. Now system is again going to step IS_SELECTION for selecting add-on.

 

This loop is continuing without progressing further step.

 

I kept the ACP file C-CEE====110_604 & installation package in download folder

I'm using SUM1.0 SP16 PL7
